More than 1000 patients who sustained cerebrovascular disease have been treated with HBOT and have shown improvement that ranges from 40 percent to 100 percent. This remarkable recovery rate, reported from a number of clinical studies, was much higher than the rate for conventional treatment methods of managing stroke. It is all the more dramatic when one considers that most of the patients participating in these studies were in the chronic poststroke stage, with fixed neurologic deficits.
